E-Cigarette Use Rises Among Wisconsin Teens
In November the Wisconsin Youth Tobacco Survey was released and the data showed that for the first time ever e-cigarette use exceeded conventional cigarette use among Wisconsin teens. The survey also found that youth favor the sweet flavored products. According to the survey, 90 percent of high school students said they wouldn’t use e-cigarettes if it weren’t for the flavors.
Wisconsin Wins Youth Volunteer Thanks Officers
Recently, a youth volunteer submitted a letter to the editor thanking our officers who help to make sure that youth in central Wisconsin don’t get their hands on addictive tobacco products. The Central Wisconsin Tobacco Free Coalition would also like to extend a thank you to these officers because without them the program would not be successful.

HUD Announces All Public Housing Agencies Must Go Smoke-Free
On November 30th, the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development announced that all public housing agencies have 18 months to implement smoke-free policies. The new rule does not include e-cigarettes but, public housing agencies do have the option to include e-cigarettes into their individual policies. The new ruling apply to all living units, common areas, offices and outdoor areas within 25 feet of the buildings.
The Central Wisconsin Tobacco Free Coalition can help properties make this transition. We have many resources, including model lease language for private property owners, to make the switch easier. Please contact Destinee Coenen at 715-261-1931 or visit the Clear Gains website.
