The City of Wausau Parks and Recreation Commission have brought back the discussion on the possibility of a smoking ordinance at or near specific park and recreation facilities. The next meeting is March 5th at City Hall at 4:30PM where it will likely be discussed. This meeting is open to the public.

Overall, the top three reasons given by youth were:
- Because a friend or family member used them (39%)
- Because they are available in flavors like mint, candy, fruit, or chocolate (31%)
- Because they are less harmful than other forms of tobacco, such as cigarettes (17.1%)

World Oral Health Day is Celebrated on March 20th
This is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene for all populations. Tobacco use can lead to many dental problems such as bad breath, tooth discoloration, and inflammation. In addition, an increased risk of plaque and tarter build up, cancer, and gum disease can occur.
